Wills

There are many reasons to have your Will professionally-written. Even people with seemingly very straightforward circumstances can save their loved ones from considerable heartache and unnecessary complications after their death if their Will is written by a specialist.

Who should make a Will?
• Anyone over the age of eighteen.
• Anyone with assets – from a small investment to a high value estate.
• Anyone who has children.
• Anyone who has business interests.

It’s a shocking statistic that 60% of UK adults do not have a Will. Perhaps even more shocking is that over 65% of those with children do not have a Will. Yet having a Will prepared can be a cost-effective service that shouldn’t cause you unnecessary stress.

Without a Will you are subjecting your loved-ones to the “intestacy lottery”: it is often a misguided belief that your affairs will be easily sorted out after your death, that your spouse/civil partner will receive everything: that is not true.

Consider, too, helping your loved-ones by stating in your Will what you would like to happen to you when you pass away. Better still, you can even purchase a funeral plan. Many people find it difficult to discuss such matters with their family but find it easier to tell us and it can avoid considerable heartache and argument by writing down your wishes.

Hutchinson Legal & Associates Limited can help you to consider Wills structured in a variety of ways to cover all possible scenarios. We can consider basic Wills, mirrored Wills for married couples, Wills that can provide inheritance tax planning for unmarried couples, and Wills that include trusts to help safeguard assets from circumstances such as bankruptcy, divorce and even care fees.

We ensure each Will is fluid, flexible and as future-proof as possible so that life-changing events do not render the document invalid or unsuitable.
